Estimate your overall PTE Academic score (10–90) from your four skill scores
Estimate = average of your four communicative skill scores. Pearson's official algorithm also weighs enabling skills (grammar, fluency, pronunciation, spelling, vocabulary, written discourse) — treat this as a directional estimate, not your official score.

Pearson combines your four communicative skills (Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing) with enabling skills like grammar and pronunciation using a proprietary algorithm. Averaging your four section scores gives a close directional estimate.
Most universities accept an overall PTE score of 58–65 for undergraduate programs and 65+ for competitive postgraduate courses. Top-tier programs may require 70–79.
Neither is inherently easier — PTE is fully computer-marked and often suits students comfortable with typing and computer-based tests, while IELTS includes a face-to-face speaking test.
