Weill Cornell Medicine is the medical school and biomedical research division of Cornell University, located in New York City. It was founded in 1898 as Cornell University Medical College and was renamed in 1998 in recognition of a major gift from Sanford I. Weill and Joan Weill. The institution is closely affiliated with NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and is consistently ranked among the top medical schools in the United States. It offers MD, PhD, and master's degree programs, as well as residency and fellowship training, and conducts extensive biomedical and clinical research.
