University of New Mexico

The University of New Mexico (UNM) is a public research university in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the state's flagship institution. Founded in 1889, it is classified as an R1 research university and serves as a major center for higher education, research, and health care in the Southwest. UNM offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs across multiple campuses, including its main Albuquerque campus, the Health Sciences Center, and branch campuses in Gallup, Los Alamos, Taos, and Valencia County. The university is particularly noted for its programs in health sciences, engineering, Latin American studies, Native American studies, and fine arts.
