University of Mount Union

The University of Mount Union is a private university located in Alliance, Ohio. Founded in 1846, it was originally established as Mount Union Seminary by local leaders of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Today, it offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs in the liberal arts, sciences, business, engineering, education, and health professions. The university is known for its small class sizes, strong student-faculty relationships, and a close-knit residential campus community. The institution is perhaps best recognized for its highly successful NCAA Division III athletics program, the Purple Raiders, as well as its emphasis on experiential learning, leadership, and service. Mount Union maintains an affiliation with the United Methodist Church while welcoming students of all backgrounds.
