University of Missouri

The University of Missouri (Mizzou) is a public land-grant research university in Columbia, Missouri, and the flagship institution of the University of Missouri System. Founded in 1839, it was the first public university west of the Mississippi River and today serves as a major research and teaching institution. It offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs across disciplines such as journalism, engineering, business, medicine, agriculture, and law. Mizzou is classified as an R1 research university and is home to extensive research facilities, including the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics, the Bond Life Sciences Center, and the Research Reactor Center.
