The School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) is a specialized school of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Founded in 1947 as the School of Industrial Relations, it is the oldest university-based labor-management education institution in the United States. SMLR offers undergraduate programs in Human Resource Management and Labor Studies and Employment Relations, as well as graduate programs including the Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM), Master of Labor and Employment Relations (MLER), and a Ph.D. in Industrial Relations and Human Resources.
