Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) is a private research university located in Troy, New York. Founded in 1824, it is one of the oldest technological universities in the United States and the oldest English-speaking institution to grant degrees in civil engineering, mining engineering, chemical engineering, and electrical engineering. RPI is organized into five schools—the School of Architecture, the School of Engineering, the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, the Lally School of Management, and the School of Science—and is renowned for its strong programs in engineering, science, and technology.
