North Carolina State University (NC State) is a public land-grant research university in Raleigh, North Carolina. Founded in 1887 as the North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts, it is the largest university in the Carolinas and a flagship institution known for strong programs in engineering, agriculture, textiles, design, and veterinary medicine.
