MIT-WHOI

The MIT-WHOI Joint Program is a collaborative graduate program between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI). It offers doctoral (PhD) and master's (ScM) degrees in oceanography and applied ocean science and engineering, drawing on the research strengths of both institutions. Students are admitted through MIT and are members of both the MIT and WHOI communities, conducting coursework and research across the Cambridge and Woods Hole campuses. The program is renowned for training leaders in ocean science, engineering, and policy through hands-on access to ships, underwater vehicles, and state-of-the-art laboratories.
