Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is a private research university in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Established in 1861, MIT has since then been at the center of the development of modern technology and science. MIT's impact includes many scientific and technological firsts, and it is often regarded as one of the most prestigious universities in the world.
