Liberty University

Liberty University is a private evangelical Christian university located in Lynchburg, Virginia. Founded in 1971 by Jerry Falwell and Elmer L. Towns as Lynchburg Baptist College, it has grown to become one of the largest Christian universities in the world and one of the largest private nonprofit universities in the United States by enrollment. The university is known for its conservative Christian values, extensive online education programs, and strong emphasis on religious and political engagement.
