Kutztown University

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania is a public comprehensive university located in Kutztown, Berks County, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1866 as the Keystone State Normal School, it evolved through the state teachers college system and became a university within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) in 1983. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs across colleges including Liberal Arts and Sciences, Visual and Performing Arts, Business, and Education, and is known for its strong programs in education, communication design, and fine arts. The campus sits on approximately 289 acres in a rural setting about 25 miles southwest of Allentown and 50 miles northwest of Philadelphia. Kutztown provides a residential collegiate experience with modern academic facilities, a main library, student housing, athletic venues, and dining services. The Golden Bears compete in NCAA Division II athletics as members of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC).
