Howard University

Howard University is a federally chartered, historically Black research university located in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1867, it is one of the most prestigious Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the United States. The university is named after General Oliver O. Howard, a Civil War hero and commissioner of the Freedmen's Bureau.
