Hiram College

Hiram College is a private liberal arts college located in Hiram, Ohio. Founded in 1850 by the Disciples of Christ as the Western Reserve Eclectic Institute, it has a long history of providing personalized, student-centered education. The college is perhaps best known as the alma mater of James A. Garfield, the 20th President of the United States, who also served as a student, instructor, and principal there. Hiram emphasizes experiential learning, small class sizes, and close faculty mentorship, operating on a distinctive academic calendar known as the Hiram Plan that features intensive five-week sessions.
