The University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder) is the flagship public research university of the University of Colorado system. Founded in 1876, it is located in Boulder, Colorado, at the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs across nine colleges and schools, and is classified as an R1 research institution with very high research activity. CU Boulder is known for its strong programs in aerospace engineering, physics, environmental sciences, business, and the arts.
