Hochschule Bremerhaven

Hochschule Bremerhaven (Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences) is a public university of applied sciences located in the seaport city of Bremerhaven in the German state of Bremen. It was founded in 1975 and offers practice-oriented bachelor's and master's degree programs in engineering, natural sciences, economics, and social sciences. The university is closely linked to the maritime, logistics, food technology, and renewable-energy sectors of the surrounding region, and many programs include strong industry cooperation and applied research components. The university is organized into several departments, including the Departments of Engineering, Natural Sciences, Economics, and Social Sciences. It emphasizes interdisciplinary, project-based learning and maintains research institutes such as the Food Technology Institute (ILT) and the Institute for Wind Energy and Energy System Technology (IWES). With a modern campus near the harbor, it serves a student body of around 3,000–3,500 students, including a notable share of international students attracted by specialized English-taught master's programs and its maritime location.
