Coast Mountain College

Coast Mountain College (CMTN) is a public community college in British Columbia, Canada, serving the northwestern region of the province. Formerly known as Northwest Community College, it was established in 1968 and rebranded as Coast Mountain College in 2018. The institution offers a range of academic, trades, health, and Indigenous-focused programs across multiple campuses, providing accessible post-secondary education, workforce training, and university transfer pathways to students in the region. The college operates several campuses and learning centres across Northwestern BC, including locations in Terrace, Prince Rupert, Smithers, Hazelton, Haida Gwaii, and Kitimat. Coast Mountain College is known for its strong connections to local Indigenous communities and its emphasis on place-based learning, outdoor education, and skills training aligned with regional economic needs.
