The University of Reading is a public research university located in Reading, Berkshire, England. It was founded in 1892 as University College Reading and received its royal charter as a full university in 1926. The university is known for its strong programs in agriculture, food science, meteorology, construction management, business, and the arts and humanities, and it carries out internationally recognized research across a wide range of disciplines. The university’s main Whiteknights Campus is set in parkland on the outskirts of Reading and is home to most of its schools and facilities. It also operates the London Road Campus, which houses the School of Archaeology, Geography and Environmental Science and the Museum of English Rural Life, and the Greenlands Campus in Henley-on-Thames, which supports executive education and Henley Business School activities. Reading is a campus-focused institution with a diverse student body and extensive partnerships with industry and international institutions.
