The ranked UK MBAs covered here mostly run 12 months and cost between £39,700 (Bath, about ₹50 lakh) and £62,500 (Warwick, about ₹79 lakh) at ranked universities, rising to £86,250 at Cambridge Judge and £123,950 at London Business School. Most schools want three years of work experience, a 2:1-equivalent degree and IELTS 6.5–7.0; several, including Bath and Strathclyde, do not require the GMAT.
Why do Indian managers pick the UK for an MBA?
Strathclyde describes its MBA as the first one-year full-time MBA programme in the UK, and Bath, Cambridge Judge, Durham and Warwick (in its 12-month format) all offer a one-year MBA. For an Indian professional with three years of experience or more that means a single year out of the workforce, an all-in cost that the total-cost table below puts at about ₹69 lakh at Bath and ₹1.91 crore at LBS, and a post-study Graduate visa that needs no employer sponsorship.
The market has three tiers. At the top, London Business School (15–21 months, £123,950 for the 2026 intake) and Cambridge Judge (£86,250 for September 2027) compete with US M7 schools and price accordingly. In the middle, Russell Group and triple-accredited schools such as Warwick (£62,500 for the 12-month format), Bath (£39,700), Durham and Strathclyde offer ranked MBAs with strong UK placement. Below that, modern universities run MBAs priced close to their MSc fees, often with January and May intakes and lower experience requirements; check the individual course page for the fee.
Fees are the same for UK and international students at LBS, Cambridge and Warwick, so Indian applicants are not paying an "overseas" premium at the top end. What they do pay is London or Cambridge living costs: Cambridge Judge budgets £20,700 (about ₹26 lakh) for living expenses in 2027/28.
MBA in UK fees for Indian students: 2026 and 2027 intakes
Programme fees read from each school's own page on 26 September 2026. Where a school states the intake year the table shows it; fees can change between intakes, so check each school's page for the intake you plan to apply for.

Total cost of a one-year MBA in the UK, with living and visa costs
Add the fee to 12 months of living (Study UK: £900–£1,300 a month outside London, £1,300–£1,400 in London), the £558 Student visa and the Immigration Health Surcharge for a 16-month visa (£1,164). The final column is what a family or lender must be ready to fund before scholarships.
| Scenario | Fee | Living | Visa + IHS | Total GBP | Total INR |

| Bath MBA, 12 months | £39,700 | £13,200 | £1,722 | £54,622 | ≈ ₹69.4 lakh |

Living midpoints £1,100 a month outside London and £1,350 in London (Study UK). LBS row includes the £400 Student Association fee and IHS for a 2-year visa. £1 = ₹127. Visa maintenance you must show is separate: first-year fee balance plus £1,171 or £1,529 a month for 9 months.
MBA in the UK without GMAT: which schools waive it and what they ask instead
GMAT policy differs school by school, and the official pages are explicit. What replaces the test is almost always a stronger weighting on work experience, essays and an interview.
- University of Bath: "GMAC not required". Requires at least three years of full-time post-graduation work experience with evidence of progression and a 2:1 or equivalent degree.
- University of Strathclyde: GMAT "is not a standard requirement", though the school may ask for a reasoning test. Minimum age 24, three years of full-time experience managing people or resources, IELTS 6.5.
- Warwick Business School: a test is required, but you can choose GMAT, GRE or the Warwick Test set by the school. Three years of professional experience; a second-class degree preferred but not essential.
- London Business School and Cambridge Judge: a GMAT or GRE score is part of the standard application; check the current admissions page for any executive-assessment alternatives.
- Modern universities generally do not ask for GMAT and often accept two years of experience; some accept fresh graduates onto MBA-titled courses, which employers treat as a master's in management rather than an MBA.
- Indian applicants: a CAT or XAT percentile is not a GMAT substitute at any UK school, but a strong percentile can be mentioned in essays as evidence of quantitative ability.
How to apply for an MBA in the UK from India
Top schools run rounds from September to April for the following September; Bath's overseas deadline is 31 July 2027 for the September 2027 class. Scholarship money is largest in the early rounds.
Twelve months out: fix the budget and the tier
Decide whether you are funding ₹40 lakh, ₹80 lakh or ₹1.5 crore. That decision, not rankings, picks your shortlist. Confirm your experience count: three full-time years post-graduation is the norm at Bath, Warwick and Strathclyde.
Ten months out: test or waiver
If your shortlist includes LBS, Cambridge or Warwick, book GMAT or GRE (or register for the Warwick Test). If it is Bath, Strathclyde or a modern university, skip the test and spend the time on essays.
Nine months out: English
Most MBAs ask IELTS 6.5–7.0 overall. Many accept a medium-of-instruction letter or waive the test for applicants with years of English-medium work experience; ask admissions in writing before booking a test.
Eight months out: essays, CV and references
Two or three essays on goals and leadership, a one-page CV in UK format, and two references (one professional). Interviews follow within 2–4 weeks of a complete application at most schools.
Six months out: offers, deposits and scholarships
Deposits are significant: LBS asks £3,500 within a month of the offer and £6,500 later, both deducted from tuition. Merit scholarships are decided at offer stage; ask for the school's scholarship deadline.
Five months out: loan and proof of funds
Collateral loans from Indian public banks or non-collateral loans from international MBA lenders are the usual routes; several lenders pre-approve students at specific UK schools. A sanction letter counts as visa funds.
Three months out: CAS and visa
Hold the fee balance plus £1,171 a month (£1,529 in London) for 9 months, for 28 consecutive days. Apply for the Student visa (£558 plus IHS) and give biometrics in India; decisions take about 3 weeks.
Arrival: start the job search in week one
UK employers who sponsor visas recruit MBAs in the autumn for the following year. Careers teams open before term begins; use them from day one.
What happens after a UK MBA: salaries, Graduate visa and sponsorship
Cambridge Judge reports an average post-MBA base salary of £71,216 and 82% of the class receiving an offer within four months, from its 2026 employment report. Mid-tier schools publish their own reports; expect base salaries meaningfully below that figure outside London, with consulting, finance and technology the main destinations. At ₹127 to the pound, a £55,000 base is about ₹70 lakh gross, before UK income tax, which is 20% on income between £12,571 and £50,270 in the 2026-27 tax year, with higher rates above that.
After graduating you can apply from inside the UK for the Graduate visa: £937 plus the £1,035-a-year health surcharge, no sponsor needed, any job or self-employment. Apply on or before 31 December 2026 and it lasts 2 years; from 1 January 2027 new grants are for 18 months, which is the window for the intakes covered on this page. To stay beyond that you need a Skilled Worker sponsor paying at least £41,700 a year or the going rate for the role, with a lower £33,400 threshold available in some circumstances; MBA-level roles in consulting, product and finance clear these thresholds comfortably in London.
Dependants: MBA students cannot bring a spouse or child on a Student dependant visa, because the MBA is a taught master's. Partners typically join once you hold a Graduate or Skilled Worker visa. Executive and part-time MBAs studied from India are not Student-visa courses at all.

Frequently asked questions
What are the MBA fees in the UK for Indian students?
Ranked one-year MBAs cost £39,700 at Bath and £62,500 at Warwick for September 2027 entry, about ₹50 lakh and ₹79 lakh. Cambridge Judge is £86,250 (₹1.1 crore) and London Business School £123,950 (₹1.57 crore) for its 15–21 month programme. Modern universities usually price MBAs closer to their MSc fees; check the course page.
Can I do an MBA in the UK without GMAT?
Yes. Bath states "GMAC not required" and Strathclyde says GMAT is not a standard requirement, while Warwick lets you sit its own Warwick Test instead of GMAT or GRE. Most modern universities do not ask for any test. LBS and Cambridge still expect a GMAT or GRE score.
How long is an MBA in the UK?
Twelve months at Bath, Durham and Cambridge. Strathclyde lists full-time and part-time options, so check its course page. Warwick offers 12-month or 16-month formats with an internship or exchange, and London Business School runs 15–21 months with flexible exit points. The Student visa covers the course plus a short wrap-up period.
How much work experience do I need for a UK MBA?
Three years of full-time, post-graduation experience is the standard at Bath, Warwick and Strathclyde; Strathclyde also sets a minimum age of 24 and wants experience managing people or resources. Some modern universities accept two years or less, but their MBAs carry less weight with recruiters.
What is the salary after an MBA in the UK?
Cambridge Judge reports an average base salary of £71,216 (about ₹90 lakh) with 82% of graduates receiving offers within four months, per its 2026 employment report. Mid-tier schools report lower figures, and Skilled Worker sponsorship requires at least £41,700 a year, so check each school's own employment report.
Can I stay in the UK after my MBA?
Yes, on the Graduate visa, applied for from inside the UK after completing the degree: £937 fee plus £1,035 a year health surcharge, no sponsor needed. It lasts 18 months for applications from 1 January 2027, which covers the intakes on this page (2 years only if you apply by 31 December 2026), after which you need a Skilled Worker sponsor.
Which is the cheapest MBA in the UK for Indian students?
Among ranked schools, Bath at £39,700 for September 2027 is the lowest fee on the official pages checked; modern universities usually charge less but carry less recruiter recognition. All-in, a Bath MBA outside London costs about £54,600 (₹69 lakh) with living costs and visa fees included.
Is IELTS required for an MBA in the UK?
Most schools ask for IELTS 6.5–7.0 overall (Strathclyde 6.5), but many waive it for applicants with an English-medium degree or several years of English-medium work experience, and the university can assess English itself for the visa. Ask admissions in writing before you book a test.
