Sciences Po

Sciences Po (Institut d'études politiques de Paris) is France’s leading social sciences university and grande école, known for political science, international relations, law, economics, history, sociology, and public affairs. Founded in 1872 as the École libre des sciences politiques and later integrated into the French public higher-education system, it trains students for careers in government, diplomacy, NGOs, business, journalism, and research. Its main campus is in central Paris (Saint-Germain-des-Prés), with additional undergraduate campuses in Dijon, Le Havre, Menton, Nancy, Poitiers, and Reims that emphasize regional and international tracks. Teaching is research-informed and multilingual, with strong dual-degree and exchange partnerships worldwide. Sciences Po is highly selective and internationally oriented: roughly half of its student body comes from outside France. It combines a selective undergraduate College, master’s schools (including public affairs, international affairs, law, journalism, and management), and doctoral research through its research centers and doctoral school.
