The S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) is a professional graduate school of international affairs at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. Named after S. Rajaratnam, Singapore’s first Minister for Foreign Affairs, RSIS conducts advanced research, graduate education, and policy outreach on Asia-Pacific security, international relations, and strategic studies. It offers graduate programmes such as the Master of Science in Asian Studies, International Political Economy, International Relations, and Strategic Studies, as well as a PhD programme. RSIS also functions as a leading think tank and research institute in the region, hosting specialised centres and producing policy-relevant analysis on geopolitical, economic, and security issues. The school was officially established on 1 July 2007, building on the earlier Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies (IDSS) founded in 1996.
