North Carolina State University, commonly known as NC State, is a public land-grant research university located in Raleigh, North Carolina. Founded in 1887 as the North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts, it is the largest university in the Carolinas and a flagship institution of the University of North Carolina system.
