London Metropolitan University

London Metropolitan University (London Met) is a public university based in London, England, formed on 1 August 2002 through the merger of London Guildhall University and the University of North London, though its institutional roots trace back to 1848. Located in one of the world's leading capital cities, it serves a diverse community of learners from around 150 nationalities and is known for its inclusive, practice-oriented approach to higher education. The university offers approximately 160 degree courses across disciplines including business, computing, art and design, social sciences, law, and health sciences. London Met operates two main urban campuses: Holloway in north London (Islington) and Aldgate in east London. It has invested heavily in modern facilities, notably a £30 million Science Centre featuring one of Europe's largest university superlabs with 280 workstations, alongside specialist health sciences simulation suites, art studios, a journalism newsroom, mock courtroom, and TV and radio studios. As of 2024/25, London Met enrolled roughly 16,150 UK-based higher education students, with on-campus international enrolments exceeding 3,500 and growing significantly in recent years.
