The Walter A. Haas School of Business is the business school of the University of California, Berkeley, and one of the world's leading institutions for business education and research. Founded in 1898 as the College of Commerce, it was renamed in 1989 in honor of Walter A. Haas, former chairman of Levi Strauss & Co. and a Berkeley alumnus. Located in Berkeley, California, in the San Francisco Bay Area, Haas offers undergraduate, full-time MBA, evening and weekend MBA, executive MBA, PhD, and executive education programs. Haas is widely recognized for academic rigor, entrepreneurship, finance, technology management, and social impact. Its culture is shaped by four defining principles: Question the Status Quo, Confidence Without Attitude, Students Always, and Beyond Yourself. The school benefits from proximity to Silicon Valley and the broader Bay Area innovation ecosystem, giving students strong access to tech, consulting, finance, and startup opportunities. Haas is consistently ranked among the top business schools globally and is accredited by AACSB. Its main facility, Connie & Kevin Chou Hall, is a LEED Platinum-certified building and serves as the hub for classrooms, faculty offices, student collaboration spaces, and school administration.
