Cranbrook Academy of Art is a prestigious private graduate school for art, architecture, and design located in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Founded in 1932 by George and Ellen Booth, it operates as part of the Cranbrook Educational Community, a National Historic Landmark celebrated for its integration of art, education, and landscape. The Academy offers Master of Fine Arts degrees in disciplines such as 2D Design, 3D Design, 4D Design, Architecture, Ceramics, Fiber, Metalsmithing, Painting, Photography, Print Media, and Sculpture, as well as a Master of Architecture degree. The program is studio-based and built around a distinctive artist-in-residence model, in which each department is led by a practicing artist or designer who serves as the primary faculty mentor.
