City St George's, University of London is a public research university formed in 2024 through the merger of City, University of London and St George's, University of London. It brings together City's long-standing strengths in business, law, engineering, computing, journalism, and the social sciences with St George's expertise in medicine and health sciences. The institution is a member of the University of London and operates across multiple sites in the capital, continuing the traditions of both predecessor institutions. City's origins trace back to the Northampton Institute, founded in 1894, which became a university in 1966 as City University London and later City, University of London. St George's, University of London is one of the United Kingdom's oldest medical schools, with roots in St George's Hospital dating to 1733.
