Chatham University is a private university in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1869 as the Pennsylvania Female College, it became Chatham College in 1890 and achieved university status in 2007. The university offers undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs across several schools, including the Falk School of Sustainability & Environment, the School of Health Sciences and Human Movement, and the School of Arts, Science and Business. Chatham is known for its strong focus on sustainability, women’s leadership, and health sciences, and it operates the Eden Hall Campus, a 388-acre model of sustainable living and learning. Chatham’s main Shadyside Campus is located in a residential neighborhood of Pittsburgh, while the Eden Hall Campus is in nearby Richland Township. The university became coeducational in 2015 after more than a century as a women’s college.
