Linnaeus University

Linnaeus University (Linnéuniversitetet) is a public Swedish university located in the cities of Växjö and Kalmar in Småland, southeastern Sweden. It was established in 2010 through the merger of Växjö University and Kalmar University College, though its predecessor institutions trace back to the late 1960s and 1970s. The university is named after the world-renowned Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus, who was born in the region. It offers a wide range of bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs across disciplines such as natural sciences, humanities, social sciences, business, health, and engineering. The university is organized into five faculties and is known for its strong research in areas including ecology, evolution, biomaterials, e-commerce, and social sciences. It is a modern, mid-sized institution with a strong international profile, offering numerous programs taught entirely in English and maintaining partnerships with universities worldwide. The campuses in Växjö and Kalmar provide contemporary facilities including libraries, research labs, student housing, and student service centers.
