The Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YST) is Singapore's first conservatory of music and is part of the National University of Singapore (NUS). Located within the NUS campus, the conservatory offers a Bachelor of Music (Honours) degree and graduate programs including Master of Music and Master of Arts in Music Leadership. YST is known for its intensive, professional music education with a strong emphasis on performance, musicianship, and leadership. The conservatory hosts over 200 concerts annually and brings together a diverse community of students and faculty from around the world. YST was established through a generous gift from the Yong family in memory of their daughter, Yong Siew Toh. It opened in 2003 as the Singapore Conservatory of Music before being renamed in 2006. The conservatory operates as a constituent institution of NUS and is situated in a purpose-built facility designed for music education and performance. Its curriculum integrates one-on-one instrumental/vocal study with ensemble performance, academic coursework, and professional development opportunities.
