National Institute of Education

The National Institute of Education (NIE) is Singapore's autonomous national institute for teacher education and educational research. It operates as an integral part of Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and is responsible for training the majority of teachers and education professionals for Singapore's schools. NIE offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional development programmes in education, as well as conducting research in areas such as curriculum, pedagogy, educational psychology, and policy. Its close relationship with Singapore's Ministry of Education means it plays a central role in shaping the nation's teaching workforce and education system.
