Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), formerly known as Ryerson University, is a public research university located in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The institution was founded in 1948 as the Ryerson Institute of Technology and has evolved into a comprehensive university known for its career-focused programs, innovation, and strong connections to industry and the urban community. In 2022, the university was renamed Toronto Metropolitan University following a recommendation from the university's Standing Strong Task Force.
